Heading into playoffs, Central moves up in final poll

As the playoffs get underway Tuesday, the final AP poll in boys basketball is out.

In Division 2, Central High School (20-2) remains in the No. 2 spot, while Onalaska (19-3) moved up two spots to fourth. Kaukauna (19-3) remains the top-ranked team.

At 7 p.m. Friday, the Red Raiders will host the winner of (9) New Richmond – (8) Sparta. Onalaska will host the winner of (7) Holmen – (10) Menomonie.

The first-round games begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Bangor (20-1), which is the top seed and plays No. 16 La Farge on Tuesday, finished the year with the No. 2 ranking behind Columbus Catholic (20-2).

Falling just out of the Top 10 are Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau and Black River Falls in Division 3 and Melrose-Mindoro in Division 4.
