Central’s Davis, Bangor’s Reader named first team all-state
Johnny Davis from Central High School was named to the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association first team all-state.
Also named to the first team was Bangor senior and state champion Luke Reader.
Davis, a sophomore, averaged 22.7 points (55 percent from field) and 7.2 rebounds, as the Red Raiders went 24-3, falling in the Division 2 state semifinals to Milwaukee Washington 70-58.
Reader, who’s headed to UW-Eau Claire, was a unanimous D5 selection. He set a state tournament record with 11 assists in the state championship for Bangor (27-1). The senior averaged 16.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists.
Named all-state honorable mention were Logan’s CJ Siegel, Onalaska’s Noah Skifton (D2), Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau senior Chris Thompson (D3) and Bangor senior Caleb Miedema (D5).
