NBA Wednesday (Bucks @ NYN) (Heat @ Lakers) betting preview

What’s on the table today?: NBA Wednesday (Bucks @ Knicks) (Heat @ Lakers)
Tonight in the NBA a full slate of games are on the docket, but these two (Bucks @ Knicks) + (Heat @ Lakers) represent the premier matchups of the evening.
After coming off a win on Tuesday over the depleted Sixers 118-109, the Bucks and Knicks play for the second time in the past week. The Knicks won the last meeting on Nov. 5, with Julius Randle scoring 32 points in the win, with the Knicks overcoming a 21 point deficit in the first half.
The Los Angeles Lakers will host the Miami Heat on Wednesday night in a battle between two teams with hopes of being championship contenders this season. The Heat come into this game 7-3 overall and against the spread record. The Lakers are 6-5 overall. but only 3-8 against the spread.
Last season the Heat beat the Lakers in both head-to-head games, but the teams split the series against the spread.
Both teams played on Monday, with Miami losing 113-96 as a two-point road favorite against Denver. The Lakers won 126-123 in overtime as a 2.5 point home favorite against Charlotte.
Tonight I’ll be taking the Bucks and Knicks game to go OVER the total of 215.5 based upon these trends from Covers.com:
- Over is 6-0 in Bucks last 6 games as a road underdog.
- Over is 6-1 in Bucks last 7 games as an underdog.
- Over is 5-1 in Bucks last 6 road games vs. a team with a losing home record.
- Over is 6-1 in Knicks last 7 games following a straight up win.
As for the Lakers hosting the Heat, although both teams are dealing with injuries, arguably no player makes a more significant impact on his team than LeBron James. With the King on the court, the Lakers are considered a championship contender, but they may not even be a playoff team without him. Since last season, the Lakers are just 14-19 in games without Lebron.
Expect the Heat to come in fired up after a double-digit loss to Denver. There’s also history here with the Heat still having several of their key players from the 2020 NBA Finals loss to the Lakers. Los Angeles has been too inconsistent up to this point for me. Take Miami (-4).
