What’s on the table today?: Bucks @ Hawks: Game 4 Eastern Conference Finals Betting Preview & Prediction.

After watching Khris Middleton play hero, scoring 20 of his playoff career high 38 in the 4th quarter of a Game 3 win 113-102, and Trae Young suffering a bone bruise after stepping on a ref’s foot, the stage is set for Game 4 in Atlanta.

The Bucks opened up as a 6 point favorite in Las Vegas, and as much as a 7 point favorite offshore. Currently (as of this writing) the Bucks are still favored (-6.5), up a shade from open, and the total for tonight’s game set at 219. Atlanta has listed star guard Trae Young as “questionable” ahead of this evening’s game, but I would suspect, unless he’s completely unable to go, that Young will play. How much and to what effectiveness will be the key.

Milwaukee is clearly the better team, and that’s been evidenced when the Bucks play hard, smart basketball and don’t take for granted this Atlanta team, who while still chalked full of young players, has made incredible strides in this years’ post season. If the Bucks truly do have designs on being NBA Champions, they MUST NOT overlook this Hawks team in Game 4, and come out with a killer instinct and a goal to blow Atlanta out. That’s what a championship team would do.

The line on tonight’s Game 4 (Milwaukee -6.5) is where I’m going to make my play tonight. I think the Bucks, regardless of Trae Young’s injury or status, will win by a fairly wide margin tonight…somewhere in the 10-12 point range at worst. After the Bucks gut-check in Game 3, and with the first trip to the Finals since 1974 just two wins away, I simply can’t see Milwaukee not running away with this one.

For the Bucks, covering the spread in situations like tonight has also been profitable considering these recent trends:

  • Bucks are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous game.
  • Bucks are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games playing on 1 days rest.

Bucks @ Hawks tips off tonight at 7:30p on WKTY – and I’m taking the Bucks (-6.5).
