What’s on the table today?: Bucks & Giannis (2021 NBA betting outlook)
The 2021-2022 NBA season tips-off tonight at the Fiserv Forum at 6:30p (CT) where the Champion Milwaukee Bucks will unveil their banner and get their rings while the Brooklyn Nets (the team the Bucks beat in the 2nd round of last years’ playoffs) wait in the wings to take the court.
Brooklyn will begin the season without one of their “Big Three” as Kyrie Irving’s refusal to get the COVID-19 vaccine is keeping him away from the team as the City of New York is still under a strict vaccine mandate. That aside, the Nets are getting a ton of love from bettors around the country and world, while the Champion Bucks, not so much.
Even when taking a look at the futures market on the NBA MVP you’ll see Kevin Durant with better odds to win the MVP than Giannis who does already have two in his trophy case. This isn’t to suggest that the Nets can not win the East, or the NBA title, or that KD can’t win this years’ MVP, my issue is how drastically underrated the Bucks (odds wise) and Giannis (odds wise) are in my estimation.
Below you’ll see the consensus odds from our friends at Vegasinsider and odds from BetMGM. While I’m not saying the Bucks are going to walk right into a second NBA title, or that Giannis will be gifted with his 3rd MVP, however, I do think the Bucks and Giannis are being seriously overlooked.
Take a look below, and tell me…do you agree?
