What’s on the table today?: College Football Opening Night Games: Saturday 8/28/21

This Saturday we’re finally back to D-1 College Football with a five-game slate (four games on the board) that features teams from the Big TEN, Pac-12, and Mountain West Conferences. These contests bring us squarely back to the world of football, betting on football, and pretty much talking about nothing other than football. These are good days to be a sports bettor!

Without getting too far ahead of myself, I’ve decided NOT to make any predictions on the outcomes of these games, save for TWO; Fresno St vs Uconn and UCLA vs Hawaii.

I like the Fresno St/Uconn game to go well UNDER the total of 62.5 that’s sitting out there, and I really really like the UCLA/Hawaii game going UNDER the total of 68.5. I also don’t think UCLA covers the (-18) spread they’re getting right now.

As for the other contests, I haven’t done the requisite research which means….I don’t make those bets, or predictions. However, below thanks to our friends at BetMGM I’ve provided the latest (as of this writing) point spreads, totals, and money-line plays that our out there for you to consider.

On Thursday with Sports Betting Insider Jon Denton we’ll begin to make some more recommendations on how/or if you should make a play on any of these games.

  • Nebraska (-7) at Illinois (+7) Over/Under 55
    • Nebraska (-350) / Illinois (+260) Moneyline
  • Hawaii (+18) at UCLA (-18) Over/Under 68.5
    • Hawaii (+550) / UCLA (-800) Moneyline
  • Utep (-9.5) at New Mexico St (+9.5) Over/Under 56.5
    • Utep (-350) / New Mexico St (+275) Moneyline
  • Uconn (+27.5) at Fresno State (-27.5) Over/Under 62.5
    • Uconn (+1400) / Fresno State (-5000) Moneyline

REMEMBER – don’t bet based upon my recommendations. Do your research. Stay in your lane
