What’s on the table today?: Jaguars @ Saints NFL Preseason Week 2: Betting Preview
Trevor Lawrence game 2? Quarterback battle between former number 1 overall pick Jameis Winston and former Packer Taysom Hill?
Yes please!!!
In tonight’s final game of the NFL’s Preseason Week 2 we get our second offering of this year’s number 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence as the Jags face the Saints at the Superdome. Week 1 of the preseason saw the Saints lose 17-14 to the Ravens and the Jags falling 23-123 to the Browns.
While it is true that the preseason games don’t “count”, they do “matter”, and to that end the Saints used three total QBs, with each showing some glimpses of good, mixed in with plenty of “not so good”. All three of the Saints QB’s threw an interception in the loss to the Ravens, and only Jameis Winston threw a TD.
The Jags on the other hand saw Trevor Lawrence bounce back from a rocky start to have a few nice throws before his night ended with Lawrence going 6/9 with 71 yards, no TD’s and no INTS. With Lawrence expecting to see more action tonight, this might be one of the few preseason games to really look at betting on with the action detailed below.
- Jacksonville +4 (-110)
- New Orleans -4 (-110)
- Jacksonville ML (+155)
- New Orleans ML (-190)
- Over 39.5 (-110)
- Under 39.5 (-110)

The Saints are at home, and they are the better team depth wise. Payton is 28-31 as a head coach in the preseason and 7-7 in week two of the preseason. With the Jaguars having more questions than answers, you have to lean toward the Saints at home here (-4).
You can also take a look at the Total (39.5) and make a reasonable estimation this game SHOULD go Under. I’m always skeptical in the preseason with Totals, but I do like this game going UNDER the total.
