They were former teammates at Fresno State. Now, quarterback Derek Carr is hoping to be reunited with wideout Devonte Adams after next season in Las Vegas.

Adams contract with the Packers is up after this season and Carr said he’s putting on the full-court press to make him a Raider.

“He’s the best receiver in the NFL,” Carr said of Adams. “The guy’s unbelievable. He’s been one of my best friends since we’ve been in college together. I love the guy. …

“I would always welcome playing with him again. I think it would unlock some things in both of us that people haven’t seen yet. I’m always open to that, and I will be recruiting very hard. When that time comes, that will be a full court press.”

If there’s no Aaron Rodgers on Green Bay, the Packers are unlikely to re-sign the 28-year-old Adams, pending how Rodgers successor turns out. Spotrac estimates Adams’ annual salary would be for about $25 million a year.

Adams has talked about re-signing but hinted who’s throwing him the ball has something to do with that.

“Obviously, the quarterback situation helps it, but the stars got to align across the board as far as contractually,” Adams told Bleacher Report. “We’ll figure all that stuff out and let it happen. I’ll be at training camp like I said regardless, we’re going to play the season, and we’ll see how all of that pans out.”

From 2012 to 2013, the Carr-Adams duo at Fresno State connected on 233 passes for 3,031 yards and 38 touchdowns.
