La Crosse’s Davis doing a little of everything for Badgers, who open Big 10 play Tuesday
So far in his young collegiate career, La Crosse’s Jonathan Davis is a bit of a garbage man for the Wisconsin men’s basketball team.
Garbage in a good way, in that the freshman guard is doing all the dirty work, as the No. 9 Badgers (5-1) get set to open Big Ten Conference play at 6 p.m. Tuesday against Nebraska (4-3) at the Kohl Center.
Davis is sixth on the team in scoring at 8.0 points a game, while averaging 5.0 rebounds, 1.4 assists and a combined 1.6 blocks-steals.
The 6-foot-5 guard is shooting 46.2% from the field (22-47), 42.9% (3-7) from deep and 69.2% from the line (9-13).
In the 85-48 win Saturday over Louisville, Davis had seven points, six rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block in 22 minutes off the bench.
