MILWAUKEE — Christian Yelich was 2-for-4, including a solo home run for the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday.

Unfortunately, it was the only run for Milwaukee, in a 12-1 loss to the Detroit Tigers at Miller Park.

Yelich did raise his batting average to .207. It was his ninth home run of the season.

Yelich also struck out twice. As a team, the Brewers struck out 14 times against a Detroit staff that put six different pitchers on the mound, none for more than three innings.

In five innings, Brewers starter Josh Linblom gave up four runs on five hits and three walks.

It was the 33-year-old’s sixth appearance of the season — one more than he’s made in the past six years, though he’s only pitched in the Majors two seasons during that span.

Lindblom made one appearance for Oakland in 2014. Didn’t pitch in 2015 or 2016. He made four appearances for Pittsburgh in 2017. Didn’t pitch in 2018 or 2019.

Shortstop Orlando Arcia pitched the ninth inning for Milwaukee. He gave up two runs on two hits, including a homer.
