Two Milwaukee Brewers have tested positive for COVID-19.

Brewers manager Craig Counsell said pitcher Angel Perdomo and infielder Luis Urias both tested positive for the virus before team workouts began last week.

“We have workouts to organize, we have to keep our players safe, we have to spread ’em out, we have to understand how we all have to operate together,” Counsell said at a press briefing Monday. “And that requires right now all of my attention.

“So the season is not yet on my radar already. This is on my radar because it’s keeping everybody healthy and safe and doing the best we can at that job, it’s taking up the bulk of our time, and it should, right?”

Both were asymptomatic. All the players were tested when they reported for training camp.
