Former Packers TE given probation for marijuana possession
APPLETON, Wis. (AP) — Former Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers tight end Lance Kendricks has been sentenced to six months of probation for possessing marijuana dating back to 2017.
Kendricks pleaded no contest to the misdemeanor charge last week — and if he completes eight hours of community service the charge will be dropped. Half of that service is to be done at four Milwaukee high schools — King, Vincent, Hamilton and Washington.
Kendricks was driving home from a Wisconsin Badgers football game when he was stopped for driving 81 in a 70 mph at 1:31 a.m. Sept. 2, 2017.
Police smelled marijuana, searched his glove box and found a small toiletry-type bag containing marijuana, two packs of rolling papers and a metal grinder, according to a court document.
Kendricks played for the Packers in 2018, but is not listed on the team’s active roster. He may not be on an NFL team, awaiting the ruling on this case and possible suspension from the NFL.
