Central, Logan both win big in Week 2 of high school football
A multi-dimensional effort from quarterback Johnny Davis led Central High School’s football team to a 44-12 win over Eau claire Memorial on Thursday night.
The Red Raiders raced out to a 31-6 halftime lead and never looked back.
Davis had 235 passing yards and 79 more rushing, accounting for four touchdowns — three in the air.
Teammate Peter Fleming also made an impact with both his hands and legs. The running back had 59 yards and a touchdown on the ground and two catches for 52 yards — both for touchdowns.
The 2-0 Red Raiders start conference play next week.
Logan 49, Eau Claire North 0
Seniors Damond Butler and Jeremiah Nagel each scored two touchdowns for the Rangers, who got their first win of the season.
Butler rushed 11 times for 110 yards, including a 46-yard touchdown on his first carry of the game.
Logan scored touchdowns on all five of its possessions in the first half, while North had just 13 total yards on its first half possessions.
