Running against USA’s best, UW-La Crosse’s Jarrett headed to 100m semifinals
EUGENE, Ore. — UW-La Crosse’s Lauren Jarrett is headed to the USATF championship 100-meter semifinals.
Jarrett ran an 11.44 at Oregon’s Hayward Field to qualify Thursday. Jarrett was in the same heat as Jacious Sears, who had the best qualifying time (10.85).
Also qualifying was superstar Sha’Carri Richardson (11.07) — a gold medalist in the 400 relay — along with Paris 2024 Olympian teammates Melissa Jefferson-Wooden (10.86) and Twanisha Terry (10.89).
Aleia Hobbs and Gabby Thomas — the reigning Olympic champion in the 200 — also advanced.
Jarrett will run in the semifinals at 6:20 p.m. Friday.
