The UW-La Crosse volleyball team improved to 11-3 to start the season with four wins at its home-opening invitational Friday and Saturday.

Friday, the Eagles beat Macalester 3-1 and Simpson (3-2), before Saturday’s wins over Bethany Lutheran 3-1 and Minnesota Morris 3-0.

With that, the Eagles have now won seven consecutive matches. Plus, all three of their losses have come in five sets, including to 18th-ranked Gustavus Adolphus.

Conference play begins at 7 p.m. Wednesday, when UW-L hosts UW-Platteville.

Three UW teams are ranked in the TOP 25 — UW-Oshkosh (3rd), UW-Whitewater (10th) and UW-Stevens Point (20th). UW-Eau Claire and UW-Platteville are just outside Top 25.
