Brewers sweep Guardians, who had MLB’s best record, pull within 1 game of top spot
First the Milwaukee Brewers split a four-game series with the LA Dodgers, who had the best record in the Majors halfway through the series.
Then, over the weekend, the Brewers swept the Cleveland Guardians — all three games by two runs. Cleveland took that best record in baseball mantle from LA last week but relinquished it immediately upon playing in Milwaukee.
Now there’s a six-team logjam for best record. The Philadelphia Phillies are alone up top, but the Baltimore Orioles, NY Yankees and Dodgers are all a half-game behind.
And the Brewers are now tied with the Guardians for the fifth-best record and just one game out of the top spot.
Milwaukee now takes its five-game winning streak to St. Louis on Tuesday for three games.
