After 2nd-place finish last season, UW-La Crosse men’s track & field looking for NCAA title
A year after finishing the national runners-up, the UW-La Crosse men’s track and field team begins its national title run again Thursday.
The Eagles have won the NCAA Division III outdoor title 15 times. UW-L has had 51 athletes win national titles — a DIII record.
Sam Blaskowski has two of those in the 100-meter dash, and looks to get his third consecutive title this weekend for the Eagles. He’s already set the DIII all-time record (10-.09) back on May 10 at the Eagle Open.
Blaskowski is also looking to win the 200, where he finished second last season.
Blaskowski is also on the 400-relay team, along with Spencer Reichart, Collin Conzemius, and Luke Schroeder. That team is going for back-to-back titles and already broke the DIII record this season with a 39.72. Last year it won in 39.96.
UW-L has athletes competing in 17 events, including two relay teams. The Eagles have an incredible five runners competing in the steeplechase.
