Milne, Meeker combine for 42 points, leading UW-La Crosse women to upset win over No. 4 Whitewater
The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women’s basketball team snapped a three-game losing streak in a big way on Wednesday night, handing No. 4 UW-Whitewater its first loss of the season.
Lauryn Milne had 22 points, 11 rebounds and teammate Kailee Meeker scored 20 in leading the Eagles to a 77-66 upset win at Mitchell Hall.
UW-L (10-8, 3-4 WIAC) held the Warhawks (17-1,6-1) to just 33.3% shooting (23 of 69) and 19% from deep (4 of 21).
The Eagles, down three heading into the locker room, outscored UW-W 43-29 in the second half.
Milne and Meeker combined to shoot 17-for-36 from the field. It was Milne’s third double-double this season, while Meeker was 4-for-6 from beyond the arc. Paige Schumann had 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting and added seven assists to zero turnovers.
The UW-L bench also outscored the Warhawks 16-4, led by Ali Spranger’s 12 points.
