Jordan Love leads Packers to playoffs, where Aaron Rodgers failed
Jordan Love has led the Green Bay Packers to a place that Aaron Rodgers, last year, could not.
The first-year starter has Green Bay in the playoffs, after beating the Chicago Bears 17-9 at Lambeau Field on Sunday.
Last year, Rodgers and the Packers lost 20-16 at home to the Lions, which caused them to miss the playoffs, finishing 8-9.
Green Bay (9-8) will play at former coach Mike McCarthy’s Dallas Cowboys (12-5) during the late afternoon game Sunday.
This is the ninth postseason meeting between the franchises.
The series is tied 4-4 with the Packers winning the past two — the most recent coming in the 2016 divisional round when Mason Crosby kicked the 51-yard winner with no time left, in taking out the top seed.
A big concern for Green Bay could be its defense against a Cowboys offense that produced 1,749-yard receiver CeeDee Lamb, who had 12 touchdowns this season. Lamb had 227 yards in Week 17 against the Lions — including a 92-yard score.
Quarterback Dak Prescot threw for 4,516 yards with 36 TDs and nine picks this season. Meanwhile, Love 4,159 yards passing with 32 touchdowns and 11 INTs.
