A forgetful Final Four showing for the third-ranked University of Wisconsin volleyball team on Thursday.

The Badgers fell in four sets to the defending national champions, No. 5 Texas (25-22, 20-25, 25-13, 25-16).

The Longhorns move on to play top-ranked Nebraska (33-1) at 2 p.m. Sunday.

The Cornhuskers’ only loss came in a 3-0 sweep by Wisconsin in the second-last game of the regular season. Nebraska did beat Wisconsin (30-4) a month before that 3-2, in, perhaps, the season’s most thrilling match.

The semifinal was Wisconsin’s most lopsided loss of the season.

The Badgers gave up 11 aces and had seven service errors. Their .223 hitting percentage was the second lowest of the season and Texas’ .274 was the most given up by Wisconsin this year.

The Badgers were two seasons removed from having won its first National Title.
