For the third-consecutive week, the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse football team is ranked No. 4 in the Division III.

The Eagles (7-1, 5-0 WIAC) destroyed UW-Eau Claire 59-14 over the weekend — 52 of those points, unanswered, as they got down 14-7 early in the second quarter.

This week, UW-L heads on the road for what could be its toughest opponent before the playoffs, up against seventh-ranked UW-River Falls (7-1, 4-1).

Both teams have very similar scores against the same opponents. That includes The Falcons’ only loss of the season, coming 21-14 to No. 5 UW-Whitewater — a team the Eagles beat on the road 37-34.

UW-L’s only loss came in Week 2 in Texas to then-ranked No. 6 Hardin-Simmons, which has dropped to 20th in this week’s poll.
