What’s on the table today?: USFL Week 1 Odds

Full disclosure…I’m GEEKED up about the return of the USFL. I thoroughly enjoyed the XFL’s most recent offering, and the AAF wasn’t all that bad either. Personally I love the “idea” of alternate professional football as a concept. So much so in 2010/2011 I served as the Marketing Director for the Las Vegas Locos of the UFL (United Football League) coached by my late friend Jim Fassel. I believed, like all these leagues believe at one point or another they can work, they can exist, and they can prosper. If given the right conditions.

That’s what makes this new USFL so intriguing. It’s owned (at least partially) by FOX and will have all of its games nationally televised on various platforms including NBC. If the network (s) are behind this thing, and the product is good enough to draw fan interest, translating into sponsor interest, then this could work.  Week 1 we’ll get to find out just how much work the new USFL has put into their product and whether or not we as a football nation are ready to buy in.

In the opening game of the USFL’s reboot season the Washington Generals will be facing the “home” Birmingham Stallions. I use the quotes because Birmingham will be the host city for all eight teams in the inaugural restart season. Because we don’t know much of anything about these teams at this point you’re not going to see much discrepancy in the lines or odds. Simply put, nobody truly knows what will happen, how this will look, or who will win.

My suggestion, bet on the best coach Week 1 and go from there. Below are the list of coaches and their teams in the new USFL and the Odds/Totals for all the games.

For those that have entered our Inaugural USFL Pool, the road to the cash starts here!
