What’s on the table today?: Which QB will be the first taken in the NFL Draft?
Wait, I thought this was supposed to be a BAD quarterback draft? Now, I’m seeing more and more mock drafts showing not one, two, three, four but FIVE QB’s going in the 1st Round…
So, is this a BAD QB draft, or are teams doing what they do EVERY year and way ‘over-valuing’ a QB draft class?
Amongst the several regrettable draft classes that saw teams WAY over-value QB’s was back in 2011 when three teams reached to the stratosphere for sub-par signal callers.
2011 Round 1: Cam Newton (No. 1), Jake Locker (No. 8), Blaine Gabbert (No. 10), Christian Ponder (No. 12) Round 2: Andy Dalton (No. 35), Colin Kaepernick (No. 36)
If this years’ draft turns out anything like that one did….several NFL teams will be very sorry they picked a QB so high and didn’t just wait on a quarterback like the Bengals or 49ers did. Think what you want about Dalton and Kaepernick but there’s no doubt they’re WAY better than Locker, Gabbert and Ponder combined.
