A big week for the University of Wisconsin men’s basketball team.

The Badgers (14-2), on a six-game win streak, jumped five spots in the AP Top 25 rankings to No. 8 in the country.

Wisconsin plays a trap game Tuesday at Northwestern (9-6) with eyes on a Friday matchup with 14th-ranked Michigan State (14-3) at the Kohl Center.

La Crosse native Johnny Davis heads into Tuesday’s matchup in a bit of a slump.

After six consecutive games over 20 points, the sophomore has scored 19 and 14 his past two contests, respectively. In those games, Davis shot a combined 29.7% from the field, going 2-for-12 from beyond the arc, along with seven turnovers.

Davis is averaging 21.7 points on 43.5% shooting from the field and 32.3% from beyond the arc. He leads Wisconsin in points, rebounds (7.5), assists (2.6), steals (1.4) and turnovers (2.2).
