What’s on the table today?: Johnny Davis (POY award race)
It is so cool to be able to say (and write) these words. As of right now, La Crosse Central grad and star of the Wisconsin Badgers, Johnny Davis is the odds-on favorite to win the Naismith Men’s College Player of the Year award. That’s right, the POY in all of college basketball very well may be from La Crosse, Wisconsin and be named Johnny Davis. Wow.
Below you’ll find the most current odds to win this year’s award, noticing the Big Ten is well represented with Kofi Cockburn of Illinois following Johnny in the overall odds to win. This year could come down to the wire, but if the Badgers, who just entered the Top 10 (in at #8) continue to dominate the conference, I can see a clear path towards Davis for the top spot and nabbing the Naismith Men’s College Player of the Year award.
