What’s on the table today?: Bears @ Steelers (MNF Betting Preview)
Bears (+7) +250 (moneyline) at Steelers (-7) -300 (moneyline) / total 39.5
The Bears head into Monday’s contest sitting at 3-5, riding a three-game losing streak, but things aren’t all that bad, considering the Bears own an impressive trio of victories against the Bengals, Lions, and Raiders – while their losses came in tough matchups against the Rams, Browns, Packers, Niners, and Buccaneers.
However, with the Bears currently ranked 31st in scoring and dead-last in total offense (15.4 PPG, 264 YPG) –they’re not going to set any offensive records but I expect them to keep things competitive against middle- tier teams like the Steelers who are averaging just 21.7 points per game themselves.
Big Ben looks completely cooked at this point and while the Steelers are led by possibly the best head coach in the NFL (Mike Tomlin) it’s hard to figure out which Steelers team you’ll see on a game-in, game-out basis.
After picking up a win last week *(15-10)* over the Browns the Steelers are favored by a touchdown tonight, but I’m going to take the Bears plus the points (+7). I also like Justin Fields to go OVER his player prop for rushing yards (37) as Fields will be required to use his legs to keep the Bears in this game.
When all is said and done I think the Steelers win tonight, but I think it’ll be a closer contest with Pittsburgh winning 21-17, or something in that range making the UNDER 39.5 a play to consider as well.
