UW-Platteville goes on 31-0 run in defeating No. 16 UW-La Crosse
The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse football team watched a two-score lead evaporate into a 31-0 run, as it lost to UW-Platteville on Saturday.
The 16th-ranked Eagles were up 20-7 midway through the second quarter after quarterback Evan Lewandowski’s 6-yard touchdown run.
After that, the Pioneers held the Eagles scoreless, winning 38-20. UW-L dropped to 2-2 overall and 0-1 in the WIAC, while UW-P is now 4-0, 1-0.
The final four touchdowns by UW-P included a 90-yard pass, a 39-yard interception return and a 50-yard run.
Lewandowski finished 17-for-40 for 246 yards with two touchdowns and six interceptions.
The Pioneers outgained UW-L 379-355 in total offense.
The Eagles are back home at 1 p.m. Oct. 12 against UW-Stout.
