Arcia’s HR, Hader’s 2-innings, saves Brewers from Seattle sweep
A two-out, three-run home run by Orlando Arcia and Josh Hader’s two-inning save helped the Milwaukee Brewers get one from the Seattle Mariners, 4-2.
Arcia’s bomb to right off Mike Leake capped off a four-run inning that was enough for the Milwaukee pitching staff.
Chase Anderson, who actually started the scoring off in the inning with a sacrifice for an RBI, picked up the win, ending Milwaukee’s 3-9 streak in its last 12 games.
The 31-year-old righty went 5.1 innings, striking out six, while giving up three hits, a walk and just one earned run (two total).
Matt Albers and Junior Guerra were the stopgap from there to closer Josh Hader, who struck out three in a perfect eighth and ninth for his 19th save of the season.
Christian Yelich, again, didn’t hit a home run at Miller Park. The 27-year-old did go 2-for-5 and is now batting .355 on the season, but has gone five games at Miller Park now without a home run. Previously, he hadn’t gone more than two games.
The Brewers finish off their 10-game home stand with three against the Pittsburgh Pirates, beginning at 7 p.m. Friday. Listen to Bob Uecker on the call beginning at 6:35 p.m. on WKTY 96.7 FM / 580 AM.
