La Crosse’s Kotlowski, No. 1 Badgers look for conference tourney championship this weekend
La Crosse’s Katie Kotlowski and the top-ranked University of Wisconsin women’s hockey team plays in the conference final faceoff this weekend, before beginning the NCAA tournament.

At 1 p.m. Friday, the Badgers (33-1-2) play at sixth-ranked Minnesota Duluth (21-13-2). A win and they’d play again at 2 p.m. Saturday against either No. 2 Ohio State or No. 4 Minnesota.
Duluth is one of Wisconsin’s two ties this season, though the Badgers did win the shootout. UW’s other tie and lone loss have come to No. 2 Ohio State.
The Badgers were NCAA runners-up last year — losing to OSU — and won the title two years ago. Kotlowski has two championship rings with Wisconsin. She started on defense as a freshman helping UW win the championship back in 2021, as well.
The NCAA tourney begins March 13.
