Onalaska native Lexi Donarski and the No. 14 North Carolina women’s basketball team opens the ACC tournament Friday morning.

At 10 a.m. on ESPN2, the Tar Heels (26-6) play No. 22 Florida State (23-7) at First Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro, N.C.

The venue is an hour road trip for North Carolina.

FSU is one of the Tar Heels’ only losses of the season. They lost 86-84 at home Jan. 26 when Ta’niya Latson, the NCAA’s leading scorer, got by four NC defenders for a layup to win it at the buzzer.

Donarski was solid that game, scoring 12 of 5-for-12 shooting, and added five rebounds, four assists and a steal, plus four turnovers.

The shooting guard is coming off, perhaps, her best back-to-back games of the season. She scored 20 — hitting 5 of 11 3-pointers — in a win over Boston College. Before that, she had 18, hitting 4 of 10 from deep, in a loss to Virginia.

Donarski, in her final collegiate season, has scored in double figures 11 of her last 14 games, and she’s hit five 3-pointers in four of those contests.
