
UW-L sending nine to NCAA championships, after setting school record with 4 regional titles
The UW-La Crosse wrestling team is sending nine athletes to the NCAA Division III championships next weekend, after winning the regional last Saturday.
Four Eagles earned regional titles, setting a UW-L single-season record. UW-L saw three win titles last season and in 2020.
The NCAA DIII championships will be March 14-15 in Providence Rhode Island.
The nine individuals competing for UW-L include regional champs Quintin Wolbert (125), Tanner Gerber (165), Ben Kawczynski (197) and Michael Douglas (285), as well as Sam Lorenz (141), Marcus Orlandoni (184), Wyatt Magolski (133), Tyler Goebel (157) and Eddie Simes (174).
Douglas, Goebel and Kawczynski will advance to their third DIII championships while Lorenz and Orlandoni make their second trip.
Douglas and Goebel both placed second last year.
