WATCH: Logan takes on state’s leading rusher in playoff quarterfinals
The Logan High School football team gets the state’s leading rusher Friday in the Division 3 playoff quarterfinals.
The Rangers (9-2), who haven’t been this deep in the playoffs since 2014, face Medford (10-1) senior running back Paxton Rothmeier in a game that will stream on WKTY.

Rothmeier has rushed for 2,440 yards and is tied for second in the state with 33 touchdowns. In last week’s 42-22 win over Fox Valley Lutheran, the 5-foot-8, 180-pound back totaled 305 yards and five touchdowns on 42 carries.
The Rangers, though, have their own impressive rushing stats led by quarterback Bradley Check, who has totaled 1,759 yards and 29 touchdowns on the year. Teammate, Maxim Roberts, a junior running back, took advantage of the defensive attention paid to Check last week against Onalaska, in rushing for 188 yards on 18 carries.
Logan won that game 42-6 over the Hilltoppers.
