The Aquinas High School girls basketball team is two wins away from getting back to state but it will have be the first team to beat Elk Mound this season if it wants to get there.
The seventh-ranked and second-seeded Blugolds, who were the Division 4 runners-up last season, will play No. 2-ranked and top-seeded Elk Mound (26-0) in the Division 4 section semifinals.
The 7 p.m. Thursday game will be played at Arcadia High School.
Aquinas (23-3) has won 12 consecutive games and 22 of 23.
The winner will play either Baldwin-Woodville (20-6) or Somerset (16-10) — neither of which are ranked.
