Aquinas remains 8th in polls, beats 5th-ranked Cotter, while West Salem, C-FC remain in Top 10
Three area high school girls basketball teams, in three different divisions, in the Top 10 of this week’s AP poll.
West Salem remains No. 10 in Division 2, while Aquinas still sits in eighth in Division 3. In Division 5, Cochrane-Fountain City moved up two spots to No. 6.
After the rankings were released, the Blugolds picked up their seventh-consecutive victory, after a 62-50 win over Winona Cotter to improve to 18-3.
The Ramblers (18-5) are ranked fifth in Minnesota’s Class 2A.
The Panthers are 18-4, after an 82-22 win over Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau on Tuesday. It was their sixth consecutive victory.
And, for the Pirates they won No. 13 in a row Tuesday, taking down Alma/Pepin 72-40. The only loss for C-FC (20-1) came back on Dec. 7 against Caledonia, 71-66.
