Lexi Donarski had a season-high 23 points, nailing six 3-pointers in leading the 24th-ranked North Carolina women’s basketball team to a 82-76 win over Clemson to open the ACC season Sunday.

“These two [Lexi Donarski and Alyssa Ustby] really carried us a lot of the way,” UNC coach Courtney Banghart said. “I’m really happy for them and proud of them.”

Donarski was 7-for-16 from the field and 6 of 15 from deep. She added a rebound, an assist a block with three turnovers.

The six 3-pointers tied the second most she’s hit in a game for her career. Her career high in points and 3s came freshman year for Iowa State, when she scored 32 and nailed seven from deep in a win over TCU.

North Carolina is back in action Thursday against No. 25 Syracuse.

For La Crosse natives looking to watch the senior, Donarski is at No. 16 Notre Dame on Sunday — a game that will be on ESPN2. South Bend, Ind., is the closest game to La Crosse on the regular-season schedule.
