WKTY Cares December recipient is the La Crosse Public Education Foundation. The donation is earmarked for a program to obtain heart monitors for middle school students in the area. Heart monitors will serve as valuable tools, helping young minds understand how the heart works with the body and its interactions with their overall health.

Understanding the importance of physical well-being for academic success, WKTY is proud to contribute funds towards purchasing heart monitors for Logan Middle School. The heart monitors will play a pivotal role in Logan Middle School’s physical education program, offering real-time data that can be utilized to personalize fitness routines to student needs.

These devices will not only monitor students’ heart rates during physical activities but also serve as an educational tool to promote a healthier lifestyle. This personalized approach to physical activity ensures that each student can engage in exercises that are not only enjoyable but also beneficial to their cardiovascular health. Students can create a foundation of healthy knowledge to carry with them throughout their lives.

When making our donation, Logan Middle School staff noted that it is likely to take 3-5 years to get the heart monitors. To learn more about the La Crosse Public Education Foundation and how you can help, click HERE.
