Davis hits pivotal 3-pointer, as Badgers beat Iowa in OT
La Crosse native Jordan Davis played just 23 minutes, scoring 5 points for the University of Wisconsin men’s basketball team but his lone 3-pointer was pivotal in overtime, as the Badgers won 78-75 over Iowa.
Davis tied the game at 72 with 1:43 remaining and teammate Steven Crowl hit a go-ahead jumper on the next possession to give Wisconsin the lead for good. They hit free throws to hold on after that.
Iowa forced overtime hitting a 3-pointer with 15 seconds to go in regulation.
Davis, a 6-foot-4 junior guard has started every game this season, but has played 25 minutes or less in all but three of the Badgers 10 games.
Wisconsin improves to 8-and-2 on the season. Their only losses have come to No. 3-ranked Kansas by a controversial last-second basket and a Wake Forest loss by three points.
Against Iowa, a tying 3-pointer by the Hawkeyes with 15 seconds in regulation forced overtime.
The Badgers get Lehigh on Thursday at the Kohl Center.
