La Crosse will get to see Johnny Davis on Thursday, after all.

Two days after the University of Wisconsin men’s basketball team got word Morgan State could not play Thursday, due to a COVID-19 situation, the Badgers began a search for a new opponent.

That search ended Tuesday, as the team announced George Mason is ready to head to the Kohl Center for the 6 p.m. tip against the Badgers, led by Davis.

The superstar sophomore, who is now getting NBA-draft buzz is leading the Badgers in points (20.9), rebounds (6.1), assists (2.3), steals (1.6) and turnovers (1.9).

Sports Illustrated recently dubbed Davis a Top 10 prospect for next year’s NBA draft.

The Patriots (7-5) have had an interesting season of runs, so far.

They opened the year winning their first four, including 71-66 over No. 20 Maryland — the only ranked opponent on their schedule. After those wins, they lost their next five consecutive games, before winning the past three.

For the Badgers (9-2), they’re coming off a comeback win over Nicholls without Davis. Before that, No. 21 Ohio State blew them out, 73-55. They’re only other loss came without Davis against an 11-1 Providence team that is now ranked 22nd.
