Bob Uecker, Brewers kickoff 10-game home stand with Cubs this weekend
The Brewers are back in Milwaukee on Friday night to start off a 10-game home stand, beginning with the Chicago Cubs.
For the La Crosse area, the Brewers will be on WIZM 92.3 FM / 1410 AM on Friday. Bob Uecker on the call, beginning with pregame at 6:35 p.m.
Adrian Houser takes the mound for Milwaukee, against former Brewer Zach Davies. Houser gave up just one hit in six innings last time out, but did walk five. He pitched a complete-game three-hitter with no walks the time before that, striking out nine.
The 28-year-old righty is 9-6 with a 3.25 ERA this season.
Davies, who played his first five seasons with the Brewers, hasn’t gone more than four innings in a month. The 28-year-old righty is 6-11 with a 5.40 ERA.
The Brewers are coming off a disappointing two-game series, where they were swept by Detroit of all teams.
Milwaukee has the fourth-best record in the MLB but third-best in the NL — 5.5 games behind No. 1 San Francisco and 4.5 behind the LA Dodgers.
No other NL team is even close, as Atlanta is 12.5 games behind the Brewers.
