Logan’s Knoble wins high jump state title, finishes on podium in four events
One state championship, a hand in two third-place finishes and one-eighth place for Logan High School’s Kalli Knoble this weekend.
Those top-scoring finishes helped the Rangers finish fourth overall at the Division 2 state meet at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
The junior won a state title Friday in the high jump at 5-foot-4 — Knoble placed 11th in 2019, the last time there was a state meet. Knoble also helped the 400-meter relay and 800 relay get third-place finishes.
Freshman Julie Yang started the 400 relay for Logan, followed by Knoble, then senior Lauren Boge and anchored by senior Avery Trohkimoinen. They finished in 50.27 seconds.
The 800 relay of Yang, junior Elsa Hirsch, Knoble and Trohkimoinen finished third in 1:45.54.
Finally, Knoble finished eighth in the long jump at 16 feet, 10.5 inches.
On the boys side, Logan junior Martell Owens took third in the shot put with a distance (51-6.5).
Logan junior Keenan Hass finished seventh in the 110 hurdles (15.64), while the 3,200 relay of senior Tracy Bye, sophomore Daniel Wilson, freshman Isaac Trohkimoinen and sophomore Andrew Hackbarth finished seventh, as well.
