HS spring sports in Wisconsin cancelled, Minnesota decision expected Friday
As expected, spring high school sports in Wisconsin have been cancelled.
The WIAA Board of Control made that determination late Tuesday morning, holding off on a decision as long as it could in hopes things would turn around.
Officially all spring competitions and tournaments are cancelled for baseball, softball, boys golf, girls soccer, boys tennis and track and field.
The WIAA will allow virtual coaching to continue through June 30 and expanded out-of-season coach contact opportunities to 30 days for spring athletes during the summer.
Minnesota is expected to announce a decision on its spring sports season Friday.
