Doncic won’t play against Bucks, who are looking for No. 19 in a row
DALLAS (AP) — Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic didn’t make the trip to Milwaukee and will miss the game against the Bucks after spraining his right ankle against Miami.
The road to 19 consecutive wins gets a little easier tonight for the Milwaukee Bucks.
Coverage for Mavs-Bucks begins at 6:30 p.m. tonight on WKTY.
Listen on 96.7 FM / 580 AM.
MVP candidate Luka Doncic won’t play for the Dallas Mavs because of an ankle sprain.
Meanwhile, the Bucks are two wins away from tying a franchise record 20 consecutive wins set back in 1970-71, when they won an NBA championship behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Oscar Robertson.
If the Bucks can win at home tonight, they’ll really have to earn No. 20.
Milwaukee hosts LeBron James and the Lakers on Thursday. Both teams are tied with the best record in the NBA at 24-3.
Doncic was injured in the opening minutes of a 122-118 overtime loss to Miami on Saturday when his right foot landed on a foot of Heat guard Kendrick Nunn.
It will be the first missed game of the season for Doncic, who is averaging 29.3 points, 9.6 rebounds and 8.9 assists per game.
