Caledonia moves on, winning 67th in a row; Bangor, PdC lose
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — The Caledonia High School football team increased its nation leading consecutive win streak Friday, in getting back to the state championship for the fifth season in a row.
The top-ranked Warriors won their 67th game in a row, beating second-ranked Barnesville 43-12 in the Class 2A state semifinals at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Caledonia quarterback Noah King finished with 270 yards and five total touchdowns.
The Warriors will play for it’s fifth consecutive state championship at 10 a.m. on Black Friday at the Minnesota Vikings stadium against No. 3-ranked Minneapolis North (12-0).
Caledonia is 9-0 since 2007 when it gets to the title game.
The last time the Warriors lost a state title was 2005, when former Tennessee Titan Karl Klug was playing defensive end and running back for Caledonia The Warriors lost 21-7 to Eden Valley-Watkins that season.
