Milwaukee Brewers ace Brandon Woodruff is expected to miss six weeks, after straining his left oblique Sunday.
The 26-year-old righty landed on the 10-day injured list Monday, after suffering the injury early in the fourth inning Sunday. He threw a couple pitches in the fourth, after he had struck out to end the bottom of the third inning.
After an MRI Monday afternoon, it was announced he will be out until early September.
If the timetable goes beyond that, the Brewers might use him out of the bullpen, a role he thrived in during the playoffs last season.
