Milwaukee hasn’t been very good on the road this season, at 18-21, but now they’re failing at home, as well.
After splitting a four-game home series with the Cincinnati Reds, Milwaukee lost again last night against the Mariners, 8-3 — all at Miller Park, where Milwaukee is still 24-16 on the year.
Last night’s loss also marked the first time this season Christian Yelich went three consecutive home games without hitting a home run.
The Brewers are now just 3-8 in their last 11.
Milwaukee turns to Adrian Houser to start tonight. It’s his third start of the season. It’s not clear whether the reliever will just pitch a few innings or not.
Of his two starts, one was a disaster and the other he just went two innings.
On April 22, he lasted just four innings, giving up two home runs and five earned. He struck out three and walked one in the loss.
On May 7, he started and went two innings, giving up just two hits and a walk while striking out four.
Milwaukee seems forced to turn to Houser, since Jimmy Nelson is now in the bullpen. Corbin Burnes was sent to the minors. Gio Gonzalez is gone until around the All-Star break.
Chase Anderson is struggling. Freddy Peralta (pictured above) hasn’t pitched since a relief appearance June 20. Zach Davies just got rocked Tuesday night for six runs — four earned — on six hits and four walks in four innings in the 8-3 loss.
At least Brandon Woodruff is coming off a 12-strikeout performance? He did give up seven hits, a walk and three earned runs in seven innings in the 7-5 win.
