Brewers look to end four-game skid, facing reigning NL Cy Young winner
The Milwaukee Brewers will look to get out of a slump as they head to the New York Mets for a three-game series Friday.
It won’t be easy, however. The Brewers, who have lost four consecutive games and 7 of their last 8, will face off against reigning NL Cy Young winner Jacob deGrom.
Opposite him, Chase Anderson takes the mound for Milwaukee, looking to improve to 3-0 and solidify his role in the starting rotation.
In his only start this season, Anderson has that lone win for the Brewers in their last eight games.
He shutout the Dodgers for five innings, giving up just one hit and one walk, while striking out five.
Things did look, for a short time, like deGrom would miss this start. But, the 30-year-old remains in the lineup, despite having an MRI on his elbow, which came back clean.
The righty is 2-2 with a 3.68 ERA this season. He didn’t face the Brewers at all last season.
