A Top 10 Friday night matchup in Central-Onalaska tonight on WKTY
Two Coulee Conference teams ranked in the Top 10 face off tonight when Onalaska High School’s boys basketall team hosts Central.
The Red Raiders (11-1) are ranked third in Division 2, while Onalaska (10-1) is ranked sixth. Listen to the game beginning at 6:50 p.m. on WKTY 96.7 FM / 580 AM.
Last week, Central got by a Woodbury (Minn.) team 57-51.
Central leading scorer Johnny Davis, who averages 24 points, had just 12 because of the defense focused on him. That’s something he’ll have to get used to Central coach Todd Fergot said.
“I like how he responded in getting more shots and getting other guys involved,” Fergot said. “We don’t want to be one dimensional, certainly, and I think he understands that and our team understands that.”
Onalaska hasn’t beaten the Red Raiders since 2015 in a regional final.
Central has run off 11 consecutive wins since a double-overtime loss to Eau Claire North.
