T.U.G.G.’s Andy Hughes helps preview Central High’s 1st-ever Riverhawk Rally on Saturday
T.U.G.G.’s Andy Hughes and Central Booster Club’s Jocelyn Buxton joined La Crosse Talk to help preview Saturday’s first-ever Riverhawk Rally.
The event happens 4:30-10 p.m. Saturday at All-Star Lanes, where Hughes will be playing an acoustic show — and, he says, taking requests, as long as he won’t butcher your favorite song.
La Crosse Talk airs weekdays at 6-8 a.m. Listen on the WIZM app, online here, or on 92.3 FM / 1410 AM / 106.7 FM (north of Onalaska). Find all the podcasts here or subscribe to La Crosse Talk wherever you get your podcasts.
Buxton said the rally will help Central’s over 50 co-curricular activities — everything from football, basketball and golf to show choir, powerlifting and Future Farmers of America.
Buxton said funding for things like girls golf is so down that they can only afford about seven golf balls for each player — and that’s it. She also noted that the football team gets about $400, which is enough to buy a helmet.
Along with Hughes as entertainment, the Riverhawk Rally will feature raffles, silent auctions and tip boards. The $60 ticket includes dinner and a pint glass that features Central’s three historic logos.
