Brian Simpson previews La Crosse’s 20th Annual St. Patty’s Day .01K
Rock Mornings host Brian Simpson dropped into the WIZM studio for La Crosse Talk to help preview Saturday’s 20th Annual St. Patty’s Day .01K down Pearl Street — deemed the world’s shortest race, at 32.8 feet.
La Crosse Talk airs weekdays at 6-8 a.m. Listen on the WIZM app, online here, or on 92.3 FM / 1410 AM / 106.7 FM (north of Onalaska). Find all the podcasts here or subscribe to La Crosse Talk wherever you get your podcasts.
Simpson talks about some of the whacky things participants have done in the past, some of the crazier ideas they’ve had in putting on this race and what it all goes for, which is the Hunger Task Force of La Crosse.
Every year, proceeds have gone to the Hunger Task Force, the only food bank between Madison, Eau Claire and Rochester, and serves 120 meal sites, food pantries, youth programs and backpack programs in the region.
Registration is open online or beginning at 3 p.m. Saturday at Brother’s Bar on Pearl Street. The race starts at 6 p.m.
