Onalaska’s Donarski, No. 8 North Carolina at No. 16 Duke on ESPN Thursday
Just two more games left in the regular season for the eighth-ranked North Carolina women’s basketball team, but the one coming Thursday could big in terms of tournament placement.
The Tar Heels (25-4) face off at No. 16 Duke at 6 p.m. on ESPN.
The last time North Carolina played Duke, they were coming off a loss to now-No. 1 Notre Dame.
The Tar Heels beat the Blue Devils in overtime, and have only lost once since, rattling off 12 of their last 13, including seven wins in a row.
During the run, Onalaska native Lexi Donarski has had one of her best stretches since joining North Carolina last season.
She went three consecutive games leading the team in scoring, while hitting five 3-pointer in each game.
She’s has scored in double figures 8 of NC’s last 11 games, including 13 on Sunday in a win at Louisville. Over that stretch, she’s hit 46.8% of her 3s, while averaging 11.8 points a game.
